at national and 68 up in frederick. going into the low 90s. let's go to monika samtani. she's got a look at timesaver traffic. >>> good morning, everybody. you know, for a monday morning, we're really not doing too badly. things are fine all around the beltway. we're going to zoom in on the west side of town coming in from the airport or from manassas and centreville on 66 over to the beltway. you're fine. all of the overnight construction in tysons and annandale should now be cleared up. let's take a live look outside first on the inbound side of i- 66 or at the beltway here at little river turnpike. no problems again as i said. things are looking good on the beltway now in annandale. back over to our maps. this time over to the other side of town. american legion bridge, no problems as you travel through bethesda, across the bridge span. we'll take a live look there as well. as you can see, south of town at the wilson bridge, things are looking good between oxon hill and alexandria. earlier accident in clinton southbound on route 5 has also been cleared. i'll be back with more traffic

will get up to 88 degrees. here's monika with your time saver traffic. good morning. >>> good morning. on the inner loop of the beltway at richie marlboro road after central avenue, that accident i've been telling you about from overnight has been cleared. all lanes are open. no worries right now if you're heading southbound on the beltway past central avenue into oxon hill and over to the wilson bridge. we'll take a live look at the beltway. if you're planning to head over here on the beltway at colesville road, there was an accident, fatal unfortunately on the outer loop or inner loop at colesville road. that was cleared as well. so you're good to go essentially all around the beltway in montgomery and prince george's county. let's go back over to the maps this time to the west side of town. there had been all this construction in tysons and annandale, 66, the dulles toll road. i believe that all should be cleared up now with maybe some residual delays but other than that, lanes are open. a live look at 66. looking good inbound at route 123. coming up in my next report, we'll go to

saver traffic with monika samtani. good morning, monika. >> good morning. it's relatively light on our major thoroughfares. the beltway is looking good. all the overnight construction has been cleared up i'm happy to say. there is accident cleanup going on in gaithersburg where shady grove road was blocked between 355 and i-370. i'll show what you it looks like from sky 9. i've been told they are reopening the lanes there on shady grove road. there was a multivehicle accident there. it's been reopened. here's 270 i believe in that area of gaithersburg. let's go back over to our maps. this time we'll head over to the south side of town. looking good on 95 out of dale city. no real delays to report into woodbridge. still bunching up in springfield and then on 395 as well in landmark. we'll take a live look in springfield on the northbound side of i-95. again just those brake lights but all the lanes are open heading up to the beltway and on to 395. i'll be back with more coming up in my next report in a few minutes. back to you guys. >>> it's a story that can best be described as a horri

toward 100. a few lucky spots will stay in the 90s, the mid-90s like annapolis. let's go to monika samtani. she has an update on timesaver traffic. a beer spill on 270. >> on a hot day like today, too. oh, the waste. we're going to go to our mdot camera first on the northbound side of i-270. just after 4:00 this morning, a beer truck in an accident. single vehicle accident by the way, but it's heavily damaged and i think the beer did spill on the road, by the way, and that's why it's taking so long to clean it up. this is northbound 270 north of route 109. you can see traffic is trying to squeeze by to the right northbound. it is causing delays. i'm show you that in a secretary. southbound side, -- in a s.e.c. southbound side, it's attracting attention as well. we'll have a look at route 121. the backups are not far back as 121 but i would get off here and take 355 as your alternate route. let's look at the map on the northbound side of 270. you're going about 5 miles an hour past route 109. in problems on 95 coming up from woodbridge to springfield. all lanes open heading to the 1

and huntingtown seeing some of that. even toward culpeper watch out. let's go to monika samtani. she's got your look at time saver traffic here at 5:00 a.m. >>> if you're planning to head on the northbound side of the gw parkway, after i tell you what's going on there, you may just reconsider. there was a large tree down northbound before the spout run parkway. right now there is no access from the roosevelt bridge or the memorial circle to get on to the northbound side of the gw parkway. you know what that means, especially northbound. not many options. i'm going to say that military road and i-66 are going to take a hit on the outbound side early this morning, at least until hov kicks in on 66 as well. so be aware of that. northbound gw parkway, i really think it's going to be military road that takes a hit this morning to try and get around this situation. so again if you're planning to head northbound, no access, northbound before the spout run parkway. we'll take a live look at the american legion bridge. that's fine heading to the southbound gw parkway. we'll take a quick look on the othe

for steady and heavy rain coming through on the fourth of july. we'll monitor that for you. monika? >> reporter: scattered power outages and signal lights out all around the metropolitan area. i'm going to tell you how many signal lights are out until they are all fixed. let's go back over to the graphic. if you are planning to head over to the beltway, and around town, you are going to be okay. but first, let's just go here. inbound on i 66, hov restrictions were lifted inside the beltway today to help everybody out and also construction from overnight was canceled because of the scattered power outages. the dulles toll road 66 and the beltway, let me tell you about the signal lights out. montgomery county 199, fairfax 75 and in the district about 55. again treat those intersections as a four way stop. let's take you outside live right now. if you are planning to head over to route 108 and prince philip, traffic volumes are very, very light this morning again. the outages are scattered, so you may come upon an intersection unknowingly that is out. coming up in my next report, we'l

. monika? >> reporter: if you are traveling around town, obviously you are going to find there is debris on your secondary roads. a lot of road closures this morning. if you are planning to head on the major thoroughfares at least a couple of things will help you out. hov restrictions are lifted on i-27 0 and 66 inside the beltway. public transportation as far as we know, normal regular service this morning. that should help you out. public transportation may just be a really good idea. also if you are planning to head over to canal road, that is a major closure between reservoir road and arizona avenue. and georgetown pike in virginia and mclane is closed as at old dominion drive as well. again as i said, hov restrictions are lifted, route 80 is closed between 270 and route 75. and we'll take you down here a couple of closures. southbound connecticut avenue between adams drive and perry and norwood drive closed between dr. bird road and route 108. on 99, you'll want to know 95, 395 and 66 outside the beltway, restrictions are in effect this morning. it is only inside the beltway, inboun

with the lovely monika samtani. good morning. >>> thank you so much. good morning. if you're planning to head over to the silver spring area, i've been telling but this accident blocking the ramp from university boulevard to get on to the inner loop of the beltway. i'm going to step out and show you a live look from sky 9. that ramp remains blocked. it was a car into the woods and they're just in the process of pulling it out right now. looks like they've set up the arrow board as well so you cannot exit from university boulevard to the inner loop of the beltway right now westbound side of university boulevard. keep that in mind for your travel plans as you head out the door. let's go back over to the maps. another accident, this time it's on the inbound side of i- 66 just after route 50 but before route 123. we'll go to our traffic camera. i believe you can see it in that shot on the left hand side of the road. if you're planning to head inbound, looks like the crews have arrived as well squeezing the left side of the roadway and that will affect traffic heavily right now especially that we're in

traffic with monika. >> we're going to start off with a live look from sky 9. you're looking at an accident southbound on route 210 at berry road. it's just before the charles county line. nasty overnight accident and you can see that crews are there. they're going to take a while to clean it up and investigate first. so it's going to be blocked for a while on the southbound side. you want to go ahead and use livingston road instead. northbound you can see also that the lanes are open, although it probably is attracting some attention, at least for that rush hour flow. i'll keep you posted on that situation. let's go to a map so i can show you exactly where it is on the southbound side of route 210 down at berry road. it is blocked at this time. if you're planning to head over in from the west, no problems to report on 66 or on the dulles toll road but a medevac helicopter has been called to an accident which is now blocking balls ford road at groveton road. balls ford is blocked at groveton road. a medevac helicopter has been called to a serious accident in prince william co

. here's monika with your time saver traffic. good morning. >>> good morning. if you're planning to head outside right now, although traffic volumes are light, you want to be aware there's a couple of issues. first of all georgetown pike is blocked completely west of walker road in great falls due to a fallen tree from yesterday afternoon and you might just want to use route 7 as your alternate route. there's a second tree that fell and fairfax crews are trying to deal with that as well. route 7 will take a major hit because of this so maybe head out the door a tiny bit early. if you're coming in from the west other than that no problems to report on 66 coming in from manassas to fairfax. we'll take a live look outside in georgetown. on the westbound side of m street right here at wisconsin avenue, only that single left lane is getting by. a water main break right here in georgetown. so be aware of that. later in the morning it could affect traffic. back to the maps this time to southern maryland. no issues on any of those major corridors. a live look outside coming in on 95 at route 198

and thunderstorms but you'll notice a nice change as we get to sunday as temperatures stay in the 80s. monika? >>> if you're planning to head around town, one of our directors sandy and i noticed there seemed to be a lot more cars on the road early this morning than we're used to. so what i want you to be aware of is that plus you could find tree limbs down and also signal lights out as well. for example, in silver spring, georgia avenue, between the beltway and spring streets, traffic lights are dark through that stretch. any time you approach an intersection like that, you want to treat that as a four- way stop anywhere in the washington metropolitan area. so keep that in mind. georgia avenue between the beltway and spring street, the single lights are completely dark. frederick down to clarksburg on 270, you're okay. no problems on i-70. we'll take a live look outside right now and show you what it looks like here on the beltway at river road. you may have heard of the overnight issues with a serious accident on the inner loop near 270 and on the outer loop near river road. high water. bot

the opportunity for afternoon showers and thunderstorms on wednesday. monika? >>> the biggest advice i can give you right now is to know that it is going to be a little tough they are morning to get to work. but to help you out, hov restrictions have been lifted on i-27 0. and 66 east inside the beltway. metro mark is telling us they are on a regular service this morning. again i think you need to give yourself extra time, even if you use public transportation, considering all the factors involved. overall you can see the beltway, beltway is looking fine no issues to report all around town on your major thoroughfares, such at 495. inside the beltway, canal is closed between reservoir and arizona. and the georgetown pike out here at old dominion drive is shut down as well. canal road and also georgetown pike at old dominion drive. other than that, there is a whole list of secondary roads that are shut down. here's what 395 looks like inside the beltway. you have hov restrictions on 95 and 395. there was an accident a pretty major one on the south side of i-95 in woodbridge with crews there overn

for manassas. here's a look at your traffic with monika. good morning. >>> good morning, anny. we've had a couple of situations early this morning. the one i've been telling you about lately is southbound georgia avenue in wheaton. i'm happy to say that all lanes have been reopened. that accident has been cleared. so you should be good to go past the wheaton metro station right now southbound on georgia avenue. let's take a live look at 270 on the southbound side. that's beginning to load up past route 109. it's going to be pretty much continuous now to route 121 before the pace improves but i think we can deal with that. we'll go back over to our maps and this time to the south side of town. northbound on i-95 right now it's incident free coming up from dale city to woodbridge. i love july in the sense that you really don't have those long slowdowns heading to the occoquan river. we'll take a live look into springfield. northbound i-95 still looking good to 395 and the 14th street bridge. i'll be back with more at 6:11. >>> by this time next year your morning commute on metro could take

with a high near 90. right now 6:17. monika samtani, got a couple of issues working. >>> just a couple of issues. no major deals i'm happy to say. i'm going to start off with arlington where you do have a water main break and you'll have to work your way around this right now which blocks south courthouse road between columbia park and 6th street in arlington. 66 is fine inside the beltway. we'll go outside the beltway on 66 and show you what it looks like here in centreville. you're going to hit the brakes a time or two leaving manassas into centreville but it's incident free this morning. just a little incident here on the shoulder but really not affecting traffic too much. we'll take you back over to the maps and this time all the way to the north side of town. coming in on 95 from baltimore no problems. route 29 looks great. the bw parkway same thing in the fort meed area and out of columbia on route 32 as well. we'll take a live look on the beltway university boulevard. outer loop still moving well leaving the 95 interchange heading west toward silver spring. no issues to report.
